For my first Simple Sundays, I'm submitting the following portrait of our 20-mo old. It's titled "Just Eyes". The photo was taken underneath J's play table. I used a graduated filter in Lightroom to play-up the eyes. There is also another graduated filter at the top of the photo, where the table's top is. The light from the flash lit up the table top, since it was closer to me than J was, so the filter darkens the table only. I think the bolts in the upper left corner are a bit distracting but I was too lazy to edit them out :).
Here's a tip when photographing kids -- unless you want to capture them with food on their face, wipe their faces and noses clean. Food and crusty noses are a pain to edit out! LOL!
Hope you all had a great weekend!

ReplyDeletethrough or throw? must be the difference between U.S or Australan English...
DeleteI love his highlighted eyes!! What do you typically do with your photos? Do you print them for framing or create photo books?
ReplyDeleteLOL about the crusties - I have MANY of those photos!
adorbs.
ReplyDeleteyou seem very in tune with your camera. we have a wicked dslr and the only setting i use (and know) is "auto" but that doesn't stop me from pretending like i'm a professional photographer haha!
I love your lil guys look here.
ReplyDeleteI love the look in his eyes too. As for food on their faces, sometimes they do add a real element to it and makes them look natural and might I add cute in their own way.
