Sleeping
Some nights, like last night, I just wanted to fall asleep on my back! It would have been so much more comfortable. But I have to keep to my side (preferably my left), which "will increase the amount of blood and nutrients that reach the placenta and your baby (source)." Sleeping on my back can "cause problems with backaches, breathing, digestive system, hemorrhoids, low blood pressure and decrease in circulation to your heart and your baby. This is a result of your abdomen resting on your intestines and major blood vessels (the aorta and vena cava)."
Though I really shouldn't be complaining, considering the little sleep I may get after the baby arrives...

Week 22 - Papaya
Whoa, Baby Boy Ng is now over 1 lbs! (1.2 lbs to be more like it). He's also about 8" CRL. Apparently, he's going to double in weight in the next 4 weeks....I think we'll be able to start to feel his kicks from the outside in the coming week. Last night I thought I felt some strong punches/kicks but A didn't catch it in time.

Weight gain
I went to the OB today and she didn't mention anything about my weight, so that's good. Last month I gained 8 lbs and she wanted to make sure that I didn't continue 8 lbs/month for the rest of the pregnancy. I suspect that I only gained 6 lbs this past month, but I forgot to ask her. The weight tracker from WhatToExpect.com says I'm right on track and well within the recommended range.

Recalled slings
I was originally considering purchasing a sling, such as the one from Infantino above, however, they (and others) are being recalled due to suffocation deaths of babies. If the baby turns in the sling, and you aren't aware, he/she would not be able to breath. Scary!

Babies R Us
After church, we stopped by Babies R Us to start a baby registry. We were there for about 2 hours and looked at stroller-car seat combos, cribs, changing tables, and gliders. We also got a list of recommended registry items, and boy is it long! With the help of experienced family and friends, we would love to narrow down that list to the necessities. How many outfits does he need? Of what size? How many bottles? Does he need 4 oz and 9 oz bottles? Did I read that right?
SO OVERWHELMING! It was much easier registering for our wedding because we knew what we needed/wanted. But as first time parents, I don't want to buy too much or too little...
Anyways, I liked that pattern on this stroller-car seat combo (aka travel system stroller) by Graco. It's grey and yellow, which is gender neutral. What's good about it is the handle on the stroller "flips" to the other side, so you can either face your baby while strolling, or your baby can face the world. A cool feature, but not necessary. What's bad about it is the stroller is hard to fold up. It's not a nice smooth motion, but rather jerky. No wonder kids can get their fingers hurt - you don't know when the stroller's going to snap into folded position. So, this one is out.
The other one we liked is also by Graco, except it only came in pink (boo!) and some other pattern I didn't care for. The system below is a bit bulkier than the one above, but we think sturdier also. It's also much easier to fold up - nice and smooth motion. If only it came in a pattern that I liked.
In an ideal world I'd have the second stroller in the first pattern. But it's not ideal, so maybe I will just have to settle. We, of course, have many other stores/websites to check out before deciding on a stroller. And no, we definitely won't buy the pink stroller for our boy.

Easter goodies
Now this is one chocolate bunny I'd eat! It's from Vosges Chocolate and made with white chocolate, lemon zest, and pink peppercorns.
What are pink peppercorns, you ask?
From BulkPepperCorns.com: Pink peppercorns have a delicate, fragrant, sweet, and spicy flavor. They are reminiscent of a mild citrus zest and sweet berries. Pink peppercorns go especially well in fruit sauces, vinaigrettes, and desserts. These peppercorns have a rich rose color that adds an elegant appearance to any cuisine.
Who knew peppercorns could be sweet?

Movement!
Just as I am rounding out the 20th week, I feel the baby move! And it's definitely not gas this time. It feels like little flutters inside my abdomen, mostly on my right side, where the babies head and arms are. He's punching away in there. I just ate some thai-basil chicken, so he must be digesting ;).

20-week ultrasound pictures
Seeing our baby BOY (that's right, he's a boy!!!) on-screen moving around and such, I can hardly believe there is life developing inside me. A & I are so excited (and I'm a bit nervous) to become parents. Below are some pictures, including one where you can definitely see he is a boy. Hope he is tall & handsome like his father :).
He's waving hello!
That is either his stomach or his bladder...I can't remember...
The technician had a little fun and put this caption under the picture.
This is a view of his bottom with his two legs on either side of the arrow.

He's weighing in at 14 oz - a bit higher than average.
I got a call yesterday from the hospital. I have to go in again this morning because the computer was acting up when we had these pictures taken. The technician will finish my series of photos. Maybe I'll have more to post!
In other news, the sciatic nerve on my right side is bothering me. Sometimes it's hard to stand or even walk. We missed the gym on Monday, so maybe it's just tense. Hopefully some exercise will loosen it up.

For the dogs
Yesterday, our poor Coco was so sick. She vomited, had diarrhea, and even was shaking at times! Poor girl. It was probably a combination of over-stimulation (first time meeting Yoshi, a Corgi puppy, and a few little kids) and excessive treating over the weekend that did it. She's much better now! Wish I could get her some of these:
They're homemade and organic (from get lick'd).

Week 20 - Banana
This week, baby's CRL is 7 in (as long as a banana!). I can't believe he/she is already so big! Though he/she has a ways to grow...
This afternoon, A & I are going for my 20-week ultrasound. We'll be able to see how he/she is developing - organs and all - and whether or not he/she is a he or she! I'm mega - excited and probably had a dream about it.
I can't remember where I put my last copy of Lucky magazine, which really stinks because there was some cool stuff in there that I wanted to make a note of. Did I leave it on the train? Did I leave it at the gym? Argh!
We got our first issue of Parents magazine last week. I can't believe I'm officially HALF-WAY through the pregnancy and that we are going to be parents very soon. Such different roles we'll be playing. But we're excited and we have lots of support from family and friends so we're not too anxious...yet...

What's going on?
I walk into my office today and first, the hallway lighting is a lot brighter. Then, it's like a sauna (80F) inside my office. I sit down in my chair and it's way low. I'm all like papa-bear (from Goldilocks & the Three Bears), "Who's been sitting in my chair?"

Week 19 - still a mango!
Our baby is now 6.5" crown to rump, which is half an inch longer than last week. He/She is also at around 10 oz.
We're so excited to get our 20-week ultrasound next week! I want to know...boy or girl!

Nursery ideas
A & I haven't officially started looking for furniture, etc. for our future nursery, but I saw this photo online and loved it! I like that it's simple and gender-neutral.
Case of memory lapse
I got a new bill from Old Navy today, and the amount seemed off to me. I thought I only got those three shirts for $15. So I dug through my receipts and found two pants that rung up. Did I buy pants too? I went to my closet to see if there were any new pants in there...nope...so I called the store to see what pants these were. The first was a patchwork pant - which sounded like a pair of kids' jeans with patches on it. The second was an embroidered...oh yea! I bought two pairs of PJ pants on clearance....duh!
And that was my first case of memory lapse, which some pregnant women experience more than others.
